Roger Tomlinson, the "father of GIS", was instrumental in
developing the first "real" GIS during the 1960's. For his
significant contributions to the advancement of GIS technology,
during a distinguished career spanning nearly four decades! He was
presented with the GIS WORLD Lifetime Achievement Award at GIS '96,
held in Vancouver, Canada. This video is the live recording of Dr.
